Welcome to Hoken Tech

It was inevitable, sooner or later, that the world of blockchain would also enter electric cars, and as repeatedly reiterated both by the Hoken Tech team and by blockchain industry gurus, blockchain videogames represent the entry point for new users and users of the blockchain.

The problem of centralized servers

The world of traditional video games uses centralized structures and tools to produce, distribute and use these video games, relying on systems that will eventually fail, such as the centralized servers on which the vast majority of video games rely to provide the gaming experience, which despite the single player mode only, requires the player to always be connected to the internet.

This means having, both on the user side and on the developer side, a weak point of the whole process, because if the server fails, due to technical problems or by the will of the developer, the end user is the one who is always affected and who loses out, both economically and in time invested and dedicated to the video game.

Not least, those familiar with Epic Games' centralized store have encountered the platform's downtime a few days ago as well as previous episodes and for several consecutive days:

The problem of scheduled closures

Considering that new video games, for normal functioning, rely on centralized servers, and that the latter involve huge expenses for developers, very often video games are created on the table, not so much to entertain video game players, but rather to monetize them in any way (seasonal passes, loot boxes and more), and once the game is launched, they wait for the break even and then close the servers within 3 or 5 years.

There are many examples we can make, and in fact recently and in the future we will witness more and more this practice of pulling the plug on servers but also on video game players, because in this way, being unable to play that video game, they will be forced to buy the next new game and repeat the whole process again.

Something that could not happen to a blockchain video game as the smart contract behind the video game would continue to operate and function without problems, as the video game server is the blockchain itself, saving that cost that all online video game developers have.

The EOS blockchain

Obviously, when deciding to develop a blockchain video game, the base layer must be carefully evaluated because not only does it have to be economical to use, but it must also guarantee that the game does not suffer slowdowns due to network congestion, as happened with the famous Crypto Kitties several years ago.

We at Hoken Tech have chosen the EOS blockchain, not only because it is carbon-neutral, but also because the underlying technology is really formidable technically, with transactions close to zero, and a really remarkable transaction volume capacity, we are talking about a potential load of over 900 million transactions per day.

Hoken Tech's video games

As mentioned, Hoken Tech uses the EOS blockchain to develop a whole series of video games, which however simple or trivial they may seem, contain a lot of technology inside, and can be declined in various areas and used for various purposes.

For example, think of art where a video game, through NFTs, can be inserted within the video game both as decoration and as fundamental assets to play and progress in the video game itself.

Endless compatibility

One of the many advantages of blockchain video games, the so-called web3 videogames, in addition to having no server costs, have the advantage of being reproduced on any device that uses a browser and an Internet connection.

In fact, we must not forget that most video games require dedicated hardware or a certain level to be used, and this entails additional expense for the end user, often not negligible.

While with a blockchain video game, no longer do you need a dedicated device, but any device will do, be it a smartphone, a PC, or even the console you already own and even unconventional means as we will see.

Aware of this feature, the Hoken Tech team began testing and demonstrating that their video games work seamlessly on a wide variety of devices, becoming the first Italian company to achieve important milestones and records, where their blockchain video games already work on both PS5 and Apple Watch.

But the team went further and tested a video game on the famous Tesla cars, once again demonstrating that there are really no barriers between blockchain technology and the end user.

The future of video games in the blockchain world

What we have seen so far are just some of the advantages that blockchain video games can offer, because they are a fantastic and transversal media to reach users around the world.

We must not forget that there are currently over 400 million users worldwide using blockchain and crypto, and they need tools where to use or spend these crypto, and all those who will start offering these innovative products will emerge from the mass but also from the competition, having a competitive advantage not negligible.

And thanks to these and other projects, Hoken Tech is at the forefront of connecting brands with people through NFTs and the blockchain, especially in Italy, a country not always technologically aligned with other countries in the world.
